Rehabilitation
10
minutes on the Galileo equates to
150 leg presses using 3 times body
weight twice a week for 5 weeks.

The
Galileo
stimulates the
whole body by tilting slightly around an
axle. The aim is to
keep the head
& body steady & upright
whilst muscles spontaneously contract at a rapidly repeated rate as a
result of the body’s natural stretch reflex resulting in their rapid
development which would not be
possible with conscious
contractions. The
Galileo produces
involuntary muscular contractions which at 1500
repetitions per minute at 25Hz results in a very strong training effect
with increased muscle strength and tone and improved co-ordination.
The
science behind the Galileo:
The technology behind Galileo
was originally developed in the Soviet
Union to treat Cosmonauts who experience bone and muscle wasting as a
result of living in zero gravity and has since been refined to enhance
the performance of Olympic athletes. This innovative and ground
breaking technology has been subjected to extensive research and
studies in over 30 Universities world wide and the European Space
Agency.
The effects of the vibrations
can be targeted to specific areas-back,
quads, calf, hamstrings, pelvic floor etc. An intense workout is
performed in a brief time, without muscle soreness following
exercise.
You will be assessed by one
of our qualified physiotherapists and an
individual program will be devised for you to achieve your goals with
maximum training effects.
Significant results can
be
achieved in 10 - 15 minutes, 2x/week for 4-8
weeks.
